The Embassy of Nepal in Muscat successfully organized an Export, Investment, Tourism and Employment promotion program entitled “Business Interaction and Networking event” at Nepal House, Muscat on 04 August 2026. The event focused on information dissemination related to the opportunities of export from Nepal and investment avenues in Nepal, and establishing connection between the Nepali and Omani businesspersons. More than 70 participants including high-level Trade Deleg ation from Nepal, CEOs, Directors, Managers and representatives of business houses and Hypermarkets in Oman, Media persons and Nepali businesspersons attended the event.

Mr. Bishesh Kumar Sah, Chargé d'Affaires, during his welcome address, expressed gratitude to the guests for accepting the invitation. Mr. Sah informed the gathering that Nepal has prioritized Oman as an important partner for exploring the possibilities of trade and investment and expressed his happiness about the first visit of a high-level delegation from Nepal. He also presented on the Investment opportunities available in Nepal. He mentioned about the process of investment, institutional arrangements and why Nepal is an attractive destination for Omani investment. After the presentation, he expressed his heartfelt condolence on the untimely demise of Nadhira Al Harthy, first Omani women to summit Mt. Everest and other famous mountaineers who lost their lives in a mountain avalanche.

Mr. Govind Ghimire, President, Federation of Entrepreneurship Nepal (FEEN), presented on the potential of export trade from Nepal enlisting few products with comparative advantages. Mr. Ghimire further explained how FEEN has been promoting export economy of Nepal. Mr. Rabindra Shakya, President, Federation of Handicrafts Association Nepal also delivered a presentation explaining the unique and traditional craftmanship of Nepal in terms of handicrafts. He presented a list of handicraft items that has high potential for trade in Oman and GCC.

An array of Nepali products was put on display for the participants to view. During the networking session, guests enquired about the products and expressed their willingness to explore the possibility of business. The trade delegation interacted with the participants to establish a relation for possible future ventures. A dinner including Nepali dish, Mo:Mo, was served for the guests. The event was emceed by Ms. Usha Adhikari, Third Secretary.

The high-level Trade Delegation arrived Muscat, Oman on 03 August 2026. The Embassy organized a B2B Interaction with Lulu Hypermarket on 04 August 2026 and few more B2B interactions have been planned on other dates. The delegation will hold high-level official meetings and interactions with Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (05 August) and Oman Investment Authority (06 August). An interaction with Nepali community is planned on 07 August before their departure on same day.
